I'm currently in a Yahoo Fantasy Basketball League.
We have 10 teams going at it in a Head to Head format every week. The categories include: Field Goals made, Field Goal %, Free Throws Made, Free Throw %, 3 Pointers Made, 3 Point %, Points, Offensive Rebounds, Defensive Rebounds, Assists, Steals, Blocks, and Turnovers.
We're almost half way through the season and I'm right in the middle of the pack, just hoping to make the playoffs.
My team has been decimated by injuries and hampered by arguably the bust of the year, my #1 pick Elton Brand.
Here's my team and a quick thought on each player:
"The Karaoke Hunks"
Joe Johnson (Atl - PG,SG)
- A fantasy basketball stud - he's been even better than I expected, with all-around stats and one of the league leaders in 3 pointers.
Kevin Martin (Sac - SG)
- He's back from injury and he's a one man scoring machine. He's giving me monster points, threes, and free thows, with good percentages.
Eric Gordon (LAC - SG)
- This rookie has become the go-to guy for a depleted L.A. Clippers team. I was lucky to pick him off the free agent market.
Al Thornton (LAC - SF,PF)
- He's mostly a scorer and he's always aggressive, lately having big games and all-around production.
Yi Jianlian(NJ - PF)
- Inconsistent but a capable big man who can score, shoot threes, and block shots. High upside.
Mike Dunleavy(Ind - SG,SF)
- He's finally playing after talks of him not even playing due to his knee injury. He's coming off a career year and when he gets back into playing shape he'll be a solid offensive weapon.
Tim Duncan(SA - PF,C)
- Old reliable. He took over when Manu and Tony Parker got hurt earlier in the season. He's the model of consistency and the anchor on my team.
Andray Blatche(Was - PF,C)
- Another gamble, he's starting for the Washington Wizards and he's shown flashes of freakish ability. Now I'm hoping he just strings solid games together.
Rodney Stuckey(Det - PG,SG)
- After coming off the bench and being hyped as a player to watch in the off-season, Stuckey has been more than answering the buzz with solid numbers, leading the Detroit Pistons to wins.
Derrick Rose(Chi - PG)
- Front runner in Rookie of the Year voting, Rose plays like a seasoned veteran already.
Nate Robinson(NY - PG,SG)
- He's been blowing it up earlier in the season but he's hit a wall lately, shooting at horrible percentages. I know he'll get back on track soon.
Kevin Love(Min - PF,C)
- He's got great potential as a rebounding, blocking machine. It's only a matter of time he'll get into the starting line up of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Al Harrington(NY - PF,C)
- Baby Al is capable of scoring 30 points on any given night and he's not afraid to shoot it. A three point and scoring beast.
David Lee(NY - SF,PF,C)
- He's been my other anchor of consistency - a double-double guaranteed. And as a Knick fan I'm doubly elated.
Rudy Fernandez(Por - PG,SG)
- He's good the mad skills to become a fantasy stud. Right now he's a three point threat with great shooting percentages.
LaMarcus Aldridge(Por - PF,C)
- The best scoring big man for a dangerous Portland Team, Aldridge has become an essential part of both - the Portland Trailblazers and my Karaoke Hunks.
Luol Deng(Chi - SG,SF) INJ
- Sidelined with an injury for now, he's capable of all across the board numbers.
I'll update our team's rise to the top as the days go by.
Go Karaoke Hunks!
